After previous successful fashion showcases in Accra and London and a show stopping collaboration with Emerge NYFW in New York February 2020 .
The Wearable Art Collective is delighted to be once again supporting Emerge NYFW with African designers to participate in NYFW September 2020.

Are you an emerging African designer who has always dreamed of international exposure . This is your opportunity . The Wearable Art Collective is hosting a competition to showcase the winning designer at Emerge NYFW .

THEME: “ARTISAN AFRICA II”

WINNING DESIGNERS:

• Opportunity to showcase to a diverse international audience.
• Networking opportunities with international buyers, press, influencers, etc
• Mentoring and Coaching support from established creatives.
• Unique opportunity for the designer to showcase their African influenced creativity on the world stage.
• Possible international pop up opportunities, alternative shows and events.
• Complimentary brand promotion and publicity.
• The Finale/ The Winning Designer will receive the opportunity to showcase their collection at Emerge NYFW.

PARTICIPATION

Winners would be chosen by a unanimous decision by The Emerge NYFW/Wearable Arts Collective panel. They will be judging by the best designs from entries received from registered Fashion Designers.

THE WINNER 🥇 🏆

The overall winner of the competition will participate in the Emerge NYFW show either live in New York or in the Emerge NYFW virtual show. (winning prize cash value $10,000 Emerge entry fee & more)

RUNNER-UP 🥈

Runner-Up receives three months mentoring/coaching/brand support from a key sponsor (value $3k)

SECOND RUNNER-UP 🥉

Second Runner-Up receives one month complimentary brand social media and marketing support (value $1k)

NOTE: If the Emerge NYFW is a live show, the overall winner will be responsible for their own transportation and accommodation costs to New York (Emerge may assist in supplying a letter of support to the relevant embassy). If the overall winner will not attend the event, they will be responsible for shipping their designs to New York.
