Through fashion design, jewellery, sculpture and textiles the Wearable Art Collective challenges conventional notions of a singular African aesthetic and identity, and reflects the integration of African art and design without making the usual distinctions between “professional” and “artisan.”
The Wearable Arts Agency represents Africa’s emerging designers, on world-class fashion platforms. Many designers do not have the resources or knowledge of how how to scale their design business, so Wearable Art Agency seeks to build and equip such designers. Each designer under the WAA is vetted and taken through vigorous training by branding experts. The outcome of this vetting is a collective of exquisite fashion labels, worthy of any acclaimed fashion platform.
WAA searches for authentic hand crafted pieces. The selection is made according to the Wearable Arts philosophy: only those pieces that are elegant as well as trend-setting make it into our gallery.
